They could have danced all night

Doris Davis, resident of Silver Creek Valley Country Club and Don Fernandez of The Villages were two of the dancing stars at the recent Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center’s benefit gala.

“Dancing With Our Stars” was a resounding success. Four hundred people came out for dinner, dancing and live and silent auctions at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose on November 1.

The gala honored the JCC’s past board presidents and chairs, with a theme inspired by the television reality show Dancing with the Stars. Seven past presidents - Cookie Addison, Ron Cohn, Doris Davis, Don Fernandez, Virginia Hess, Sylvia Metz and Gordon Levin - performed in a dance contest after practicing for weeks with professional ballroom dance partners from the Dance Spectrum dance studio in Campbell.

Jonathan Roberts and Valentina Kostenko from the television show Dancing with the Stars also performed.

The gala has raised over $105,000.00 and donations are still coming in.
