Revolutionary treatments provide permanent hair reduction

If you live with unwanted hair on your back, legs, underarms, upper lip, or other areas, you may be surprised to find that you can find permanent relief to your problem through pulsed light hair removal.

Before and after pulsed light treatments

According to Dr. Donna Lee, medical director for Clarity Medical Spa in Evergreen, “Pulsed light treatments are remarkable because they provide permanent hair reduction on large body areas with a minimum of discomfort. I use a Palomar Pulsed Light System and my patients have experienced superior results after only a few treatments.”

“Pulsed light is similar to a laser in that it uses an intense beam of light,” added Lee “But Palomar has filtered out the unnecessary wavelengths and improved the cooling to make treatments more comfortable than lasers.”

Palomar Pulsed Light Systems have the flexibility to provide varied hair removal treatments on different types of skin and hair, including darker skin tones. The systems remove unwanted hair by delivering a pulse of intense light directly into the hair follicles. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the follicles and converted to heat. The heat then loosens the hair and disables the cells responsible for growing new hair.

“Pulsed light treatments are exponentially more effective than temporary solutions such as shaving and waxing,” said Lee. “Even electrolysis can’t compare, because it’s very impractical for large body areas. Most patients describe the pulses as a ‘snapping’ sensation, which causes mild discomfort at most. After the treatment, there may be some redness for a few days, but that quickly fades and the patient can enjoy the effects of smooth skin.”

Clarity Medical Spa is hosting a free Aesthetic Laser Seminar on Saturday, July 21 at 10:30 a.m. Learn how laser or intense pulse light can help treat not just unwanted hair but also sun damage, brown spots, rosacea, lines/wrinkles and acne scars.
