Great Americans of the 20th Century

With budget cuts and high-stakes testing in schools, visual and performing arts are usually the first to go. However, this is not the case at Carolyn Clark Elementary.

Every year, students in grades 4-6 at Clark have the opportunity to try out for the school play. This year’s play was a musical, “Great Americans of the 20th Century” (A Bad Wolf Press Production) and consisted of 40 actors, and was directed by volunteer teachers: Bernadette Marcias, Kirk Pleasant, and Aura Monge.

“Great Americans” honored many of the major figures of the 20th century from the Wright Brothers and Rosa Parks, to Georgia O’Keefe and Cesar Chavez to name a few, for their contributions to our country.

“Great Americans” was performed on Jan. 30 for the entire school during two assemblies, and a community presentation that same evening.
