We all know that Evergreen is a wonderful place to live. The residential areas have nice homes, the schools are good and the scenery is beautiful. It also has some great walking trails.
 |
| Evergreen Creek Trail is 1.2 miles long, and it follows the south bank of the creek between San Felipe Rd. and Yerba Buena Rd. |
The San Jose Parks and Recreation has an excellent Web site detailing the trails, locations and photos. Check it out at www.sjparks.org/Trails for descriptions, locations and maps.
Here are a few examples:
Evergreen Creek Trail is 1.2 miles long. The unpaved trail follows the south bank of the creek between San Felipe Road and Yerba Buena Road and is near Falls Creek Park, Montgomery Hill Park and Evergreen Park. The trail connects into the Fowler Creek Trail and the Montgomery Hill Trail.
Silver Creek Valley Trail is a paved, 4-mile walkway through the Silver Creek Valley Country Club neighborhood. Some segments are along Farnsworth Drive and Silver Creek Valley Road. Caution is necessary on the very steep segments of the trail.
The Lower Silver Creek Valley-Barberry Walkway is a half-mile walk on a paved surface between Dina Lane and Meadowfair Park.
Upper Silver Creek Trail is a .9 mile paved walk that follows Silver Creek Linear Park, connecting the main park to picnic areas and is somewhat challenging.
There are other trails in Evergreen and throughout the city. Walking is good for you. Get out and enjoy the neighborhood.
