D8CRT features councilmember Rose Herrera at January meeting

Rose Herrera, newly-elected San Jose City Council representative for District 8, will be the featured guest speaker at the Jan. 15 meeting of the District 8 Community Round Table. Herrera will introduce her staff and talk with the audience about her plans for the coming year.

Other topics for the Jan. 15 meeting include a presentation by San Jose’s Housing Department concerning the city’s activities to address the growing foreclosure problem. Housing Staff will discuss the foreclosure data for San Jose, with particular attention to the situation in District 8. Staff will also talk about the Don’t Borrow Trouble program, which aims at ensuring that residents are not taken advantage of when financing or refinancing a home loan.

In February, the D8CRT will return to its regularly scheduled date of the first Thursday (Feb. 5) of the month at 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Evergreen Branch Library.

Everyone who lives or works in District 8 is invited to join the D8CRT, which focuses on issues of interest to the community.
